Programming with Scratch and English for Kids

Jul 7, 2025 - Oct 4, 2025

  • 90 Days

About

1. INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING AND SCRATCH The fundamentals of programming will be explored through computational thinking and the use of Scratch. Students will learn how to operate the interface, use coordinates to move characters, create animations, and program keyboard and mouse interactions. Control structures such as loops and conditions will also be addressed. The unit will conclude with an interactive project where they will apply the concepts learned. 2. CREATION OF SCRATCH GAMES Students will delve into the development of video games in Scratch, working with variables, scores, timers, levels, enemies and obstacles. Advanced concepts such as collision detection, custom functions and advanced animations will be introduced. In addition, the creation of local multiplayer games will be explored. As part of their learning, they will develop a basic game that they will then improve through hands-on workshops. 3. INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON A transition from Scratch to Python will be made, highlighting similarities and differences between the two languages. Students will learn about basic syntax, control structures, loops, lists and user interaction. Small Scratch projects will be replicated in Python and a guided program will be developed to reinforce textual programming logic. 4. FINAL PROJECT Students will apply everything they have learned in the creation of a final project in Scratch, which can be a video game or an advanced animation. They will work on its design, implementation and progressive improvements with continuous feedback. Finally, they will prepare a presentation to showcase their projects, reflecting on their learning and next steps in their programming journey.
